This catalogue accompanies the temporary exhibition "OK/LA" at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art. Oklahoma expatriates Patrick Blackwell, Joe Goode, Jerry McMillan, Ed Ruscha, Paul Ruscha, and Mason Williams have had a profound influence in contemporary art and culture. Their respective careers have left a tangible mark on art, design, humor, music, and television. OK/LA focuses on the intersections between their lives and work over the last six decades with a particular focus on references to their youth in Oklahoma, their relocation to and life in Southern California, and the humor and wit that pervades their work.
