Cucurbitaceous vegetables occupy a prominent position in horticulture due to their rich diversity, wide adaptability, high productivity, nutritional importance, and economic value. The family Cucurbitaceae comprises several commercially important crops, including gourds, squashes and pumpkin which contribute significantly to food and nutritional security across tropical, subtropical, and temperate regions.
